Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Great helmet just fits snug, you can probably go the same size as what you normally get but it will hurt a little until you break it in. All in all it’s amazing and doesn’t fog up. Looks better than the average helmet too. Will definitely get a backup for myself.”

Customer Review: “Helmet came with both the tinted and clear visor as intended, comes with a little bag to keep the helmet in when not being used which is a nice touch to prevent any unnecessary wear to the visor, the fit was exact from what was found on the size chart though i had to find it on their website, and the quick release is a wonderful touch when you don’t want to struggle around with taking it off. Overall a decent helmet, quality is good for the price and I obviously hope not to need to test the durability but we will see if that time ever comes!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is a pretty nice helmet! I had been wearing a cheaper Triangle helmet for years, and following the general 5-year rule I decided it was time to replace. I’m glad I did! The pads in this one are much more substantial, and the shell feels sturdier while only being slightly heavier. It did feel pretty tight putting it on the first time, but after the pads have broken in a bit, it’s gotten more comfortable. Just be aware that it’ll probably feel a bit small if you’re coming from a helmet you’ve been wearing for a while. I appreciate the addition of the free tinted visor, and while I generally prefer to wear prescription sunglasses under a visor instead, it’s a nice option to have if I ever want to swap it out. I like the color a lot too – it seems like the vast majority of helmets are solid black or white, or an extremely ugly pattern of some kind. I like the simple matte olive green since it looks nice without cooking your head under the hot sun like my old black helmet did. The ventilation is good – it keeps your head cooler on warm days with the vents in the top and chin. They aren’t the best and you’re still going to get more effective ventilation by cracking your visor, but they do help. The vents are also styled in a nice subtle way that don’t make it look like you’re trying really hard to look like you’re from the future like a lot of the other cheaper ones. My biggest complaint is that the ear padding is really thick, and it’s hard to keep earbuds in if you’re wearing them while you ride. I have to cram my hands into either side to reposition them into my ears before I ride, which adds a solid 90 seconds of fiddling with the helmet every time before I get on. Another minor complaint is the nose redirection thing to keep your breath from fogging up the visor. If you have a schnoz like me, it’s going to hurt whenever you put the helmet on. Thankfully, it’s easy enough to pop out though. Overall, this is a really solid helmet! It’s on the higher end of the cheap no-name helmets, and I’m glad I sprung for the better quality one this time. I have a hard time justifying an expensive new one every 5 years, but a quality helmet at a good price point like this one encourages me to actually swap it out when I’m supposed to. Update after 4 months of near-daily wear: the biggest issue I have noticed with this helmet is the visor. The screw on the left side (while wearing it) has a tendency to come loose every couple of months and needs tightened. It’s only popped out once on me, but it’s a mild annoyance. I think it’s because the tab to lift it is on the left side, so every time you open the visor, it loosens that screw a tiny bit. It’s not enough to ding it a star as this has been a great helmet, but it’s something to consider.”

Customer Review: “I ordered this in large according to the size chart, tried it on inside my house and immediately thought it was too tight. Wore it for less than a minute and said nope. I suffer migraine syndrome, so I try not to provoke it with tight hats or helmets. I should have kept it on longer, though. I put it right back into the box and returned it. I then ordered another large by mistake thinking I got an extra large (dumb of me, I know). I got stuck with it and decided to try it on for a 30 minute bike ride. Wow! It does slide on tight around the ears, but I learned to pull the strap tight against the padding and get one ear at a time, then did the same with the other strap and two ears at a time without catching hardly at all. Problem solved. Once on my head, I actually forgot it was there when I road across town to a friends house and have her a hug. I head butted her, and again when I said sorry and tried to kiss her forehead… lol! So I found it to be super lightweight, comfortable, seemingly well made with nice materials. I took it on the highway and hear a slight whistle over 60mph, but personally I won’t be hitting the interstate often. This is my around town and work commute helmet. The reviews from others who have spilled, swear by it. I trust it, and it’s a nice helmet compared to the poorly designed helmets I’ve worn in the past. Great value! If yours feels tight but your sizing was right, try the strap method I spoke of and just go for a ride before you decide. I think a size up would have been wobbly and that would have been more of a noticeable problem. Oh, and the matte black finish matches my satin/matte black bike almost perfectly.”

Customer Review: “my son absolutely loves his helmet, it fits great and made of great quality. Will definitely be buying more if needed.”

Customer Review: “I was involved in a hit-and-run accident on my motorcycle on Friday, May 31 of this year I skipped down the road for what was probably a record distance and my bike was engraved into US 19 for probably the length of a football field until It flipped over the median into oncoming traffic thank god for wearing this helmet because I would no doubtedly be dead. I thank you for for being involved in the safety of recreational riding. I was however supposed to receive a tinted visor with this helmet which I think was accidentally forgotten when shipping. If I could still get it that would be awesome! Because even after the accident my helmet is still standing strong! but my visor did get a little scratched up and I need a new one! Haha.Thank you so much for readingJacobCan you please send the tinted visor? I have not yet received it”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Super strong and sturdy. Fits great and is comfortable. I would buy this same one again. Super sleek look and gets a lot of complements”

Customer Review: “Ordered a LARGE per the sizing/measuring instructions and it fits perfect. The visor works smoothly, positive clicks but easy enough to lift/lower. Quick-release chin strap is pretty much a must now as the ol’ D-rings is sooo 1970’s. Nice looking helmet and is MUCH better made than the “Fuel” brand you get at the Wally World. Cheaper, too. I hope and pray to NEVER find out how it would fare in a crash but I expect at least as good as any other helmet in its price class. First impressions, I like it. And for the reasonable price, even if the interior starts to fall apart after a couple years, who cares– get another one.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Fits good and comfortable. Nice and light. Good strap.”

Customer Review: “Great helmet for riding, and i feel more protected rather than the half face or top helmets. The price is 30 dollars less than the almost similar one at Walmart. Only issue is figuring out how to switch visors the first time. Though it looks self explanatory that is all the information you have, booklet has no directions on switching visors. But easy once you figure it out, a bit harder if your a guy and no finger nails though.”

  • Great value for the price
Cons:
  • Snug fit around cheeks may be uncomfortable initially
  • Minor paint imperfections on some units

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Overall, this is a very nice helmet but fits a bit snug around the cheeks/face. As per the instructions, I measured my head and got a medium as that is where I fell. At the top/crown of my head, the helmet fits great – snug with pretty much no movement, but not painful — just how you want it. Along the cheeks though, it is a very snug fit and while not painful, could best be described as lightly uncomfortable. I believe though that with time and use, these will “pack in” a bit an not be as noticeable. The look of the helmet is great and the included gloves/goggles/facemask are ok and a nice touch. If you are really into motorcycles and especially off road, you probably have your own stuff, but if you are just getting into it or are looking for a package deal, this is a decent addition and again, a nice touch to include with the helmet. I hope to never have to test its ability to protect me in a crash, but overall, I think this is a good value and a good looking product that I would buy again.”

Customer Review: “I could not be more impressed with the quality of each of the items that came with this. The goggles are especially impressive because they’re heavy! I would have expected them to be really light and flimsy feeling and just thrown in the box with the helmet as extra fluff to make it seem like a great deal when, in reality, they and the other “accessories” may as well have been purchased from a dollar store. That’s not the case at all though- each item is well made and seems as though I will get a lot of life out of them. There were some minor paint flaws on the helmet where it looked almost like drip marks as the pattern was a bit bumpy where it obviously shouldn’t have been, but that is a very minimal complaint and hardly noticeable unless pointed out and a person goes looking for it. Overall, I am extremely happy with this product- or, rather, these products!”

Best For

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Lightweight and comfortable for extended wear
  • Great sun protection with dark tinted visor
  • Removable neck scarf adds warmth during winter
  • Stylish matte black finish
Cons:
  • Visor hinge can be flimsy and tricky to handle
  • Zipper on neck scarf may be uncomfortable for some

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Good looking, lightweight, comfortable helmet at an inexpensive price. Fast delivery too. Only downside is the visor hinge is very flimsy – Don’t lift it too far or it pops out of its tiny socket. (and you need 2 hands to pop it back in so it holds up your ride) Other than that, it’s a very good buy!”

Customer Review: “You have no idea how stoked I am to finally have found a brand alternative to Speed and Strength. S&S, by a longshot, manufactures the most durable, comfortable, high-quality, well-designed helmets on the market. Problem is, they’ve gotten more expensive and harder to find (especially in my size). I’ve pretty much given up on them as my go-to brand. I tried a 1Storm helmet a few months back. I wasn’t impressed. Design was awesome, shape of the helmet made me feel like an extraterrestrial riding around my motorcycle. When my last S&S helmet fell apart last Friday, I took a chance on this brand and I’m super glad I did. I got the matte black helmet and installed the tinted visor and I have to say, it was so sick I couldn’t believe it was only $60. I was so stoked I was doing some ninja moves in my helmet and my dog was looking at me like I had lost my mind. What I like about this helmet: # It’s got a quick release strap # It’s soft on the inside # It’s breathable material; I didn’t feel or notice much sweat in my helmet which is impressive for the Arizona heat # It’s beautifully designed, I didn’t see any imperfections in the helmet design or finish # The tinted visor is REALLY tinted, like black-tinted not that stupid smoke color everyone tries to sell you. You have no idea the difference it makes while driving around in Arizona. Seriously. First, you can not escape the sun. And about half the day, it’s only agenda is to try and kill you by blinding you with its death rays. As soon as you drop that tinted visor down, you forget the sun is even there – that’s how harmless it feels. You would think that with as dark as the visor is, it would be hard to see. I know it’s so strange to say but the clarity of that visor is superb. It’s not dark at all from the inside, at least not like you would expect when you see the visor on the outside. It’s like looking at everything through some super, super clean sunglasses. # It’s just all around a very decent and reasonably priced helmet. What I don’t like about the helmet: # Who came up with the zipper idea?! I want to know because it can’t be someone that rides a motorcycle. I do not want a zipper around the base of my neck! If I want to cover my neck, I’ll just cover it with a jacket or something else. That’s not my helmet’s job or problem. Just stick to the stuff you got right and get rid of the zipper and I think you’ll have people coming back for years. I’m just glad it’s discreet but I still have to look at it every time I put my helmet on. Bottom line is: If you only ride occasionally or once in a blue moon, stick to the more expensive helmets – it’s better to be safe than sorry until the newer brands are put to the test. You’re not very likely to run through them that fast because you don’t ride as much. But if you ride every day like me, a simple drop of the helmet from hip-height walking down the hallway at work could impact or ruin its ability to protect you in the future if the material inside expands. Gets expensive so it becomes a bit more practical to choose a reasonably priced helmet because you end up having to buy 1-3 each year if you don’t treat them right. Get this helmet. Seriously. You’d be crazy not to sport this around town. Next paycheck, I’ll be getting another color. Can’t wait.”

Complete Buying Guide for Lightest Full Face Motorcycle Helmet

Essential Factors We Consider

When selecting the lightest full face motorcycle helmets, safety certification is paramount. Always look for DOT, ECE, or Snell certifications to ensure reliable protection. Material quality, such as ABS, polycarbonate, or carbon fiber, affects both weight and durability. Ventilation is important for comfort during long rides, especially in warm weather. Also, consider the helmet’s fit and padding for comfort and noise reduction. Features like dual visors, removable liners, and quick-release buckles add convenience and versatility.

Budget Planning

Lightweight full face helmets come in a range of prices. Budget helmets generally use ABS or polycarbonate shells and may lack premium features but still meet safety standards. Mid-range helmets often provide better ventilation, comfort, and visor options. Premium helmets may use carbon fiber for ultra-lightweight performance and advanced aerodynamics but come at a higher cost. Decide on your budget based on how often and what type of riding you do, balancing cost with safety and comfort features.

Final Thoughts

Choosing the right lightweight full face motorcycle helmet improves your riding comfort and safety. Prioritize helmets that fit well, have good ventilation, and meet required safety standards. Don’t forget to consider additional features that fit your riding style and climate. Investing in a helmet that feels light and comfortable can make a big difference during long rides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are lightweight helmets less safe than heavier ones?

A: Not necessarily. Helmet safety depends more on design, materials, and certifications rather than just weight. Many lightweight helmets use advanced materials that provide excellent protection without extra weight.

Q: How do I know the right size for my helmet?

A: Measure the circumference of your head about one inch above your eyebrows. Compare this measurement with the helmet manufacturer’s sizing chart. The helmet should feel snug but not uncomfortable.

Q: Can I use a tinted visor at night?

A: It’s not recommended to use tinted visors at night as they reduce visibility. Switch to a clear visor for night riding to ensure maximum clarity and safety.

Q: How often should I replace my motorcycle helmet?

A: Most manufacturers recommend replacing your helmet every 5 years or immediately after a significant impact or accident, even if there is no visible damage.

Q: Is it worth buying helmets with extra features like removable liners and dual visors?

A: Yes, these features improve hygiene, comfort, and convenience. Removable liners are easier to clean, and dual visors allow you to adapt to different lighting conditions easily.

Choosing the lightest full face motorcycle helmet that fits your needs can transform your riding experience. From daily commuting to off-road adventures, the helmets reviewed here offer a range of options balancing safety, comfort, and weight. Take your time to assess your priorities and pick the helmet that feels right for you. Ready to find your perfect helmet?
